Indication


NausiCalm syrup is used to:
- prevent and treat travel sickness for adults and children over 2 years old,
- treat temporary nausea and vomiting (no more than 2 days) without fever for adults and children from 6 years old.

How to take NausiCalm


How to use
Dosage
Travel sickness
- Children 2-5 years old: 1/2-1 teaspoon.
- Maximum dosage: 75 mg/24hrs (5 teaspoons in 24 hours).
- Children 6-15 years old: 1-2 teaspoons.
- Maximum dosage: 150 mg/24hrs (10 teaspoons in 24 hours).
- Adults (from 15 years old): 1-2 tablespoons.
Take this medication 30 minutes before departure. It can be repeated during the journey.
For symptomatic treatment of nausea and vomiting with no fever for adults and children from 6 years old
- Children 6-15 years old: 1-2 teaspoons every 6-8 hours.
- Maximum dosage: 150 mg/24hrs (10 teaspoons in 24 hours).
- Adults (from 15 years old): 1-2 tablespoons every 6-8 hours.
- Maximum dosage: 400 mg/24 hours (8 tablespoons in 24 hours).

Length of treatment
If you take NAUSICALM syrup to treat nausea and vomiting without fever (ONLY for adults and children from 6 years old), do not exceed 2 days of treatment. If symptoms persist after 2 days, consult your doctor.

Composition of NausiCalm


Active ingredient (for 150ml):
Dimenhydrinate 0.472 g

Other ingredients:
Saccharose, caramel flavouring, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, purified water.

Format


This drug is in the form of a syrup. 150 ml vial.

Precautions for use


This drug contains 3.6 g of saccharose per teaspoon, and 10.8 g of saccharose per tablespoon. Be aware of the daily dose in the event of a low sugar diet or diabetes.
- Due to the alcohol content, inform your doctor if you have liver disease, epilepsy or are pregnant.
- Do not take this medication if you suffer from bronchial asthma.
- In case of long-term liver or kidney disease, CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR so that the dose can be adapted.
- Elderly patients should seek medical advice before taking this medication:
* constipation, vertigo or drowsiness,
* prostate problems.

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR before taking this antihistamine.
IF IN DOUBT DO NOT HESITATE TO CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST FOR ADVICE.

Contraindications


This medication should not be taken in the following cases:
· certain types of glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye),
· difficulty urinating from prostatic problems or other;
· allergic to antihistamines (product to treat certain allergies),
· children younger than 2 years old to prevent and treat travel sickness,
· children younger than 6 years old to prevent and treat temporary nausea and vomiting. Nausea and vomiting among children younger than 6 years old can arise for several reasons and so a medical consultation might be required.

NAUSICALM should not be used (except with doctors advice) during breast-feeding.
IF IN DOUBT IT IS ADVISABLE TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST FOR ADVICE.

Pregnancy and breast feeding


Pregnancy
NausiCalm can only be used during pregnancy following advice from your doctor. If you discover that you’re pregnant during the treatment, consult your doctor who is the only person who can judge whether the drug should be continued.
However, drug abuse during the end of pregnancy can cause harmful effects on the baby. Therefore, it is important to always seek advice from your doctor before taking this drug and to never take more than the recommended dose.

Breast feeding
This drug passes into human milk. Avoid taking it during breast feeding.

Driving and use of machinery


Drowsiness and lack of vigilance from taking this medication can make driving vehicles and using machinery dangerous.
The effect is heightened with the consumption of alcoholic drinks or other drugs containing alcohol.

If your symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
